WASTED FAQ
FIRST TIMER'S GUIDE
Never been to a Wasted night? Here is everything you need to know about what to expect—and why we do things differently than the rest of the scene.
What exactly is Wasted?
We are an independent collective of creatives pursuing art for the sake of art. We make what they call waste. We throw audio/visual events where the music comes first, bridging the gap between underground culture and a professional experience.
I'm used to underground shows being disorganized. What should I expect?
Expect better. We hate the last-minute venue changes, the vague rules, and the total lack of organization that define the "other guys" in this scene. While they hide behind the label of being underground to cover up bad management, we believe you can have the raw edge of the scene while still operating with actual customer service in mind. What we announce is what you get.
What are your rules?
Unlike the underground free-for-alls where anything goes, we actually enforce our Community Standards. The music comes first—don't talk over sets or disrupt the performance environment. Respect the venues we use and keep noise levels down for the neighbors outside. Most importantly, respect each other. When our crew gives an instruction, that instruction is to be followed without debate; their decisions are final.
Is it safe? What is the crowd like?
We don't just talk about community; we actually enforce it. Harassment, aggression, intimidation, or predatory behavior will get you removed instantly, with no warnings. While other collectives might brush off your reports to "keep the vibe," we have a zero-tolerance policy. If you need help or see someone in distress, our crew handles it immediately—with no judgment, no excuses, and no consequences for asking.
Can I smoke or vape?
Keep the actual smoke outside. As for vaping inside, that is strictly a venue-by-venue policy. If the spot we are taking over allows it, you are good. If they don't, respect their space and hit it outside. Don't be the reason the party gets shut down. Check with the crew at the door if you aren't sure.
How do tickets work?
Tickets are bought through Posh. If you can't make it, sales are final. But here is the difference: if we cancel or mess up the event, we will refund you, no questions asked. We actually stand behind our productions.
How old do I have to be?
Check the specific event listing, but 18+ means 18+, period. Bring your valid government-issued photo ID. No exceptions, no negotiations.
Can I take photos or video?
Personal phone photography is generally fine unless we post otherwise, but leave the professional gear at home unless you've been approved in advance. Just know that Wasted records all of its events. If you are there, assume the cameras are rolling and you might be in the shot.
I have a question that isn't answered here.
